Meet Our Founder & Principal
Hi, I’m Rae. I’m the Founder and Principal of Mission Raised LLC, a boutique consulting firm that serves as a strategic partner to mission-driven organizations ready to grow. I help nonprofit leaders sharpen strategy, strengthen positioning, raise more revenue, and build the capacity to turn ambition into lasting impact.
I am a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and experienced nonprofit executive with a career spanning organizational strategy, fundraising, and communications. Throughout my career, I have helped mission-driven organizations navigate growth and change, align people and resources around strategic priorities, strengthen their position in the market, and build the revenue and infrastructure needed to achieve their goals.
Most recently, I served as the Chief Strategy & External Affairs Officer at Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, the largest Girl Scout council in the country, where I advanced organizational strategy, philanthropy, marketing, communications, earned income, and data management. My work brought together the disciplines that sit at the heart of Mission Raised: understanding where an organization needs to go, developing the strategy to get there, building the resources to support it, and bringing people along in the process.
Prior to Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, I served Martha’s Table in Washington, D.C., as Co-Interim CEO and Chief Development Officer. In these roles, I furthered the resources and reputation of a rapidly growing organization committed to fostering equity and opportunity for children and families. During my tenure at Martha’s Table, we doubled our annual operating budget and tripled the number of donors giving generously to our mission. We successfully completed a capital campaign that expanded the organization’s reach to both sides of the Anacostia River, responded boldly to the COVID-19 pandemic by launching one of the largest privately funded cash assistance programs in the country, and partnered with community members to set a new strategic direction for impact.
Earlier in my career, I held development and guest services positions with notable D.C. institutions including the Ford’s Theatre Society, the Shakespeare Theatre Company, and the Smithsonian Institution. I hold an Executive Master in Policy Leadership from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
These experiences have given me a broad perspective on the nonprofit sector and taught me that sustainable growth requires more than a strong fundraising program—it requires clear strategy, compelling positioning, effective leadership, organizational discipline, and a deep partnership with the people an organization exists to serve.
I believe nonprofits should be ambitious about what is possible, thoughtful about how they grow, and intentional about building the resources and capacity to sustain that growth. My approach is strategic, practical, collaborative, and focused on results—and I believe there should be plenty of room for joy along the way.
